(2) Remove starter (60) from accessory gearbox:
(a) Remove V-clamp (10) which attaches the pneumatic starter to the AGB.
(b) Pull carefully the starter (60) out of the AGB and remove.
(3) Remove and discard O-ring (50) from starter output drive shaft. PRE SB CFM56-5 72-094
(4) Remove the seal ring assembly (40) from the AGB housing, and keep it if not damaged.

(5) Remove the seal ring assembly (40) from the AGB housing. NOTE : The seal ring assembly (40) is made of a support (metal ring)
____ (20) and a preformed packing (30).
(6) If the preformed packing (30) is damaged, do as follows:
(a) Remove the preformed packing (30) from the support (20).
(b) Discard the preformed packing (30).

(7) Install protective plugs on all openings.
(8) Send the starter to an authorized shop if maintenance on internal parts is necessary.

(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
