(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
- make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off),
- make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(4) On the HP ground connector:
- make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

A. Installation of the starter shutoff valve
(1) Remove the blanking caps from the air ducts and the starter shutoff valve.
(2) Remove the blanking plugs from the electrical connectors.
(3) Clean the mating faces of the air ducts and starter shutoff valve.
(4) Install the starter shutoff valve (50) and the 2 V-clamps (10) and
(40) between the upper and lower ducts.
(5) Make sure that the flow arrow on the valve points to the starter and that the indexing slot of the valve is aligned with the lug of the upper duct.

(6) Lubricate the threads of the V-clamp bolts with graphite grease (Material No. CP2101).
(7) Installation of the V-clamps: CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE V-CLAMP ATTACHMENTS CAN NOT TOUCH ENGINE
_______ COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE, TO PREVENT DAMAGE.
(a) Put the V-clamps (10) and (40) in position on the starter shutoff valve (50) and on the upper and lower ducts.
(8) Torque the V-clamp nuts as follows:
(a) TORQUE the nuts to between 70 and 80 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.90 m.daN)
(b) Tap the perimeter of the V-clamps with a fiber hammer and TORQUE again the nuts.
(c) Do this torque procedure two times.
(9) Connect the 2 electrical connectors (20) and (30) to the starter shutoff valve (50). Use soft nose connector pliers only if necessary.
