An Inoperative Placard will
be placed on affected Control
Head and will be noted on
ADLS.
21. Symbol Generators C 3 2 One may be inoperative provided:
a) EFIS displays at pilot’s and
copilot's stations are operative
from independent Symbol
Generators, and
b) Both EICAS displays are
operative.
Maintenance will ensure if No.
1 Symbol Generator is
inoperative, it is moved to No. 3
(EICAS) position and Symbol
Generator EICAS Selector is
selected to ALT. GIV
Maintenance Manual ,
Chapter 31-02-01 .
NOTE: Flight crew may
perform task if qualified and
authorized.
Flight crew will ensure:
a) EFIS Displays at pilot's
and copilot's stations are
operative from
Independent Symbol
Generators.
An Inoperative Placard will
be displayed in a prominent
position to be seen by flight
crew and will be noted on
ADLS.

Flight Days.
Flight crew will ensure
Autopilot with Altitude
Hold capability is operative.
An Inoperative Placard will be
displayed in a prominent
position to be seen by flight
crew and will be noted on
ADLS.

23. Display Units
For SPZ 8000 C
equipped airplanes

a) Inoperative tube is located in the
Copilot’s Navigation Display
Position (DU #5),
b) "ND OFF" is selected on the
Copilot Display Switching Panel,
c) Standby Attitude Indicator is
operative,
d) Both Digital Bearing Distance
Indicators (DBDIs) are operative,
and
e) Alternate procedures are
developed for operation without
the Copilot’s Navigation Display.
Maintenance will ensure
inoperative Display Unit is
moved to Copilot Navigation
Display Position (DU #5) and
Display Switching Copilot
Selector is selected to ND OFF.

include crew actions in event
of another Display Unit
failure. Factors concerning
abort criteria, takeoff
continuance, deviation to an
alternate airfield and mission
continuance should be
included in briefings.
For an approach with both
copilot’s PFD and ND
