NOTE: Based on an analysis of the effects of an undetected hot air leak in the engine pylon on the electrical harness and fuel and hydraulic lines, Airbus developed Mod. 36595 (active pylon leak detection monitoring on ECAM EWD). The MMEL has been changed based on this modification and on the safety analysis, the thermal analysis, and the electrical analysis performed.
With Mod. 36595
Completion of Mod. 36595 upgrades the failure of a pylon leak detection loop or failure of a BMC to a Class 1 failure with associated cautions and required actions:

Pylon leak detection loop failure: AIR ENG 1(2) LEAK DET FAULT

BMC failure: BLEED MONIT SYS 1(2) FAULT
Therefore, a Class II AIR BLEED maintenance message is treated in the prescribed manner for Class II messages.
Without Mod. 36595
If Mod. 36595 has not been completed, the Class II maintenance message, AIR BLEED, requires a maintenance procedure to confirm that the message is not due to a failure of a BMC or a failure of a pylon leak detection loop. If it is determined that a BMC has failed or that a pylon leak detection loop has failed, the MMEL outlines the required actions to be completed prior to dispatch.
