Pilot should be aware of the effects fog and mist will have in reducing the level of contact between objects and background, making it difficult to identify potential hazards, which in turn will reduce the time available to react to any sign of a risk to the aircraft.
Fog and mist will also degrade the pilot’s peripheral vision and affect his judgment of taxi speed which, if too high, will again reduce the time of reaction to any hazards. Use should be made of IRS ground speed. In poor visibility, bright lights may be seen by day at approx. 100m away and at a greater distance by night. On  the other hand navigation lights may not be visible before sighting the actual aircraft, and especially so with certain angle of approach. Therefore great care Should be taken when following another aircraft to the stand or runway for take off. When taxing, make use of all the aircraft lighting. Be prepared to switch off any light, which restricts visibility due to glare.
DO NOT USE HIGH INTENSITY LIGHTS UNLESS OCCUPYING THE ACTIVE RUNWAY.

CAT- II / IIIA/B BRIEFING
FLIGHT PREPARATION

8.1 Pre-flight Preparation
- Review “NOTAMS” to make sure that the destination airport still needs visual or non-visual aids as per CAT-II or CAT-IIIA/B requirements.
- Aircraft Status – Check the required equipment for CAT-II or CAT-IIIA/B approaches are appropriate – Check entry in PDR Book under “Acceptance”/MEL.
-  Crew Qualification and Currency must be reviewed (Both
Captain and First Officer must be qualified and current). -Weather information. -Fuel Planning – Additional extra fuel should be considered
for possible approach delays.
8.2 Approach Preparation
-The briefing should include normal items as if any IFR arrivals and in addition, the following subjects should be covered prior to the approach briefing.
1)  CHECK THE WEATHER WITH ATC & IF CAT-II/IIIA/B
operation is in progress. 2) REVIEW MINIMA (weather for downgrading conditions). 3) Discuss ALERT HEIGHT, if applicable. 4) CREW QUALIFICATION (Both Commander & First
Officer). 5) AIRCRAFT SYSTEM “STATUS” AND CAPABILITY (STBY HORIZON – NO RED FLAG).

6) ARM AUTO-BRAKES (LOW / MED). 7) FUEL STATUS (Sufficient for slow traffic and diversion). 8) DO NOT MAKE ANY SWITCHING BELOW 1000 ft PA.
Any failure or degrading conditions below 1000 ft AGL to DH (OR Alert Height, if applicable) required a GO-AROUND, unless visual reference has been established.  A failure below Alert Height the Pilot may continue to DH except in case of “AUTOLAND” light flashing.
9)  AUTOLAND OR MANUAL LAND (NOTE: AP’s OFF not lower Than 80 ft. RA – In case of CAT II). FOR CAT IIIA/B auto land is mandatory.
