The galley chiller condenser exhaust system has these parts:
*
Main manifold

*
Chiller exhaust duct

*
Chiller boost fan

*
Sidewall duct (12).

The ECSMCs give automatic control for the chiller boost fan. The fan operates if all of these conditions occur:
*
The airplane is on the ground

*
One or both air conditioning packs are on

Main Manifold
The main manifold is above the passenger cabin ceiling, near the center. The manifold starts in the area above the forward galley complex and ends in the area above the mix bay.
The main manifold is a rigid type that has extra connections for chillers. The extra connections make it easy to connect to the manifold if you add a chiller or move a galley that has a chiller.
Chiller Exhaust Duct
The chiller exhaust duct is a rigid type. It connects to a galley mounted bracket above the chiller and to the main manifold. The duct has a vent that lets the warm air from the condenser part of the chiller go into ceiling area when the chiller boost fan is off.
Chiller Boost Fan
The chiller boost fan connects to the main manifold. The fan is 20 inches (50.8 cm) to the right of airplanes center-line, near the inboard ceiling panel adjacent to the seventh window aft of door 2 right.
The fan is an axial flow type with a three-phase electric motor. A check valve is part of the fan.

AIR CONDITIONING -VENTILATION -GALLEY CHILLER CONDENSER EXHAUST SYSTEM
Sidewall Duct
There are 12 sidewall ducts, 6 on each side of the airplane. The ducts are approximately 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. The ducts connect to the main manifold above the passenger cabin ceiling. The ducts are open on the ends that are in the mix bay area.

A/C -VENTILATION -CHILLER BOOST FAN -FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

General
The environmental control system miscellaneous cards (ECSMCs) in the system card files control the chiller boost fan. One control card at a time controls the fan. At power up, the right card controls the fan. The left card is a backup. Each time the airplane goes from air to ground, the card in control changes. The card in control sends a fan on signal to the P210 power management panel. A switch in the electrical load management system (ELMS) electronics (ELEX) unit supplies a ground to energize the chiller boost fan relay. The relay connects power to the fan.
Indications
Current sensors monitor fan current during operation. These indications go to the ECSMCs:
*
Valid fan current

*
Fan relay energized.

A switch in the fan supplies an overheat indication to the right ECSMC. The ECSMCs contain fault logic for the fan.
Chiller Boost Fan Inhibits
The chiller boost fan comes on when all of these conditions are true:
*
The airplane is on the ground

*
At least one of the air conditioning packs are on

*
Total Air Temperature is equal to or more than 45F (7C)

* Forward cargo fire system is not armed.
The chiller boost fan goes off when the fan overheats, the forward cargo system is armed, the left and right packs are off, or the airplane is in the air.

AIR CONDITIONING -VENTILATION -BULK CARGO VENTILATION FAN

Purpose
The bulk cargo ventilation fan pulls air from the passenger cabin above into the bulk cargo compartment.
Location
Access to the fan is through the ceiling liner of the bulk cargo compartment.
