MAINTENANCE MANUAL
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE PROBE HEATERS FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS.
_______ STOP FOR 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU OPERATE THE PROBE HEATER. YOU WILL DAMAGE THE PROBE IF YOU OPERATE THE PROBE HEATER FOR TOO LONG.
(a)
Open 7F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN circuit breaker on the P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel.
WARNING:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE PROBE. THE PROBE HEATER CAN BURN YOU.
(b)
Hold your hand near the probe and make sure that the probe temperature increases.
(c)
Close 7F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN circuit breaker on the P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel.
(d)
Make sure that the probe temperature does not continue to increase.
S 715-022
(5) Do a check of the probe heater operation in the engine-on mode:
(a)
Open 6H23, PROBE HEAT ENG 3 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.
(b)
Set the S2 switch on the engine 3 N2 speed card YMLA005 (in the forward electrical systems card file M7603) to TEST.
(c)
Close 6H23, PROBE HEAT ENG 3 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.
(d)
Make sure that the probe temperature increases.
(e)
Open 6H23, PROBE HEAT ENG 3 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.
(f)
Set the S2 switch on the YMLA005 card to NORMAL.
H. Engine 4, PT2/TT2 Probe Heat Test

(1)
Close 6H25, PROBE HEAT ENG 4 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.
S 865-024
(2)
Make sure that these circuit breakers on the P6, Main Power
Distribution Panel are open:
(a)
6H19, PROBE HEAT ENG 1
(b)
6H21, PROBE HEAT ENG 2
(c)
6H23, PROBE HEAT ENG 3
(3)
Get access to the engine 4, PT2/TT2 probe.

(4) Do a check of the probe heater operation in the air mode:

Open 7H8, GND SAFETY RELAY circuit breaker on the P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel.

(b)

(c)
Close 7H8, GND SAFETY RELAY circuit breaker on the P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel.
(d)
Make sure that the probe temperature does not continue to increase.

Open 6H25, PROBE HEAT ENG 4 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.
(b)

Close 6H25, PROBE HEAT ENG 4 circuit breaker on the P6, Main Power Distribution Panel.

(f)
Set the S2 switch on the YMLA007 card to NORMAL.
