Description
The objective of the Crew Resource Management is to enhance the communication and
management skills of the flight crew members. The emphasis is placed on the non-technical
aspects of flight crew performance.
Crew Resource Management is the effective utilisation of all available resources (e.g. crew
members, aeroplane systems and supporting facilities) to achieve safe and efficient
operation.
The syllabus of the Initial CRM training is compiled in accordance with the EU OPS IEM
1.945(a)(9), 1.955 (b) (6) a 1.965 (e) and its contents is described in the following topics:
Classroom Training
Introduction, statistics and examples of human factor related accidents 2 hrs
Situational awareness 2 hrs
Management of workload, tedium, tiredness or fatigue, vigilance and stress 2 hrs
Personality type, task delegation, leadership, effective communication 2 hrs
Human perception and learning process 1 hr
Operator´s standard operating procedures 1 hr
Error chain and taking actions to break the error chain 1 hr
The CRM loop 1 hr
Implications of automation on CRM 1 hr
Effective communication and coordination within the crew
and among crew members and other operational personnel 2 hrs
Joint training of course participants with cabin crew 1 hr
