from your organisation to attend this initial working group
seminar and to potentially fully participate in this activity, the
outcome of which will be of significant benefit to the flight
training community through commonality of worldwide
regulatory standards, which can only drive down costs.
It is envisaged that a working group would be set up drawing its
members from the training industry, the flight simulation industry
and the regulatory community. This working group would be
tasked to develop a unified set of technical standards and
training credits for each type of device. The final output as in
the past would be passed to ICAO for their consideration and
adoption as an update or amendment to the existing ICAO
MCQFS document. Given the magnitude of the task, it is
anticipated that the work will probably have to be split between
several working groups dealing with aeroplanes and helicopters
and with high fidelity and lower fidelity devices separately. In this
way, the commitment required from all interested parties should
be manageable by allowing the representation to change
appropriately as the focus of the work alters.
