The flight number entered on the ROUTE page shows in the title
line.
Line 1L shows the HEADWIND data field. This shows the current
headwind or tailwind component. The header changes to reflect
the wind component.
Line 2L shows the WIND data field. This shows the current wind
speed and direction.
Line 3L shows the XTK ERROR data field. This shows the
current crosstrack error direction and magnitude.
Line 5L shows the PRE-FLIGHT REPORT prompt. This lets the
flight crew downlink the pre-flight report with an ACARS
message.
Line 6L shows the WEATHER REQUEST prompt. This lets the
flight crew request the weather for the destination and alternate
airports with an ACARS message.
Line 1R shows the CROSSWIND data field. This shows the
current crosswind component direction and speed.
Line 2R shows the SAT/ISA DEV data field. This shows the
current static air temperature (SAT) and the equivalent
international standard atmosphere (ISA) deviation. The SAT
indication is blank on the ground.
Line 3R shows the VERT DEV data field. This shows the present
vertical deviation from the calculated vertical guidance path
during descent. In climb and cruise, this data field is blank.
Line 4R shows the TAS data field. This shows the current true
airspeed.
Line 5R shows the PROGRESS REPORT prompt. This lets the
flight crew downlink a flight progress report with an ACARS
message.
Line 6R shows the POSITION REPORT prompt. This lets the
flight crew downlink a position report with an ACARS message.
Nav Status Page
This page shows the status of the navaids tuned or in use by the
FMCS.
Line 1L and 1R show the VOR/ILS data fields. This shows the
VOR or ILS identifiers and frequencies that are currently tuned
on the navigation control panels.
The frequency is prefixed by a single character code in small
font. This shows the method used to tune the frequency. These
codes can show:
* M (manual tuning)
* P (procedural tuning)

* A (auto tuning).
Line 2L - 2R through 4L - 4R show the DME data fields. This
shows the status of the DME identifiers of frequencies that are
tuned by the FMCS through the DME interrogators.
The status of each tuned DME identifier/frequency shows this
information:
* If the navaid input is used in the navigation calculation, the
navaid identifier and frequency are in large font and the
identifier has a highlight
* If the navaid input is received but is not used in the
navigation calculation, the identifier and frequency are in
large font and there is no highlight
* If the frequency is tuned but valid data is not received, the
identifier and frequency are in small font and there is no
highlight
* If no frequency is received or the frequency sign status
matrix (SSM) is fail, FAIL shows in small font.
* If there is no identifier for a frequency shown, the identifier
field is blank
* If the navaid frequency SSM is no computed data (NCD), the
identifier and frequency are blank.
Lines 5L and 5R show the currently selected GPS and IRS used
in the FMCS navigation sub-function calculations. The GPS
display is blank if the GPS is inhibited for use in the navigation
sub-function.
Line 6L shows the INDEX prompt. This selects the INIT/REF
INDEX page.
Line 6R shows the POS SHIFT prompt. This selects the POS
SHIFT page.
Nav Options page
This page lets the flight crew inhibit the use of specific navaids
in the FMCS navigation sub-function.
Lines 1L and 1R show the DME INHIBIT prompt. This lets the
flight crew inhibit the use of up to two DME navaids.
Lines 2L and 2R show the VOR INHIBIT prompt. This lets the
flight crew inhibit the use of up to two VOR navaids.
Line 3L shows the DME UPDATE ON/OFF prompt. This lets the
flight crew select the DME update mode. The default is DME
update ON. Selection toggles the DME update mode between
ON and OFF. The current selected mode shows in large font and
the non-selected mode shows in small font.
Line 4L shows the VOR UPDATE ON/OFF prompt. This lets the
flight crew select the VOR update mode. The default is VOR
update ON. Selection toggles the VOR update mode between
ON and OFF. The current selected mode shows in large font and
the non selected mode shows in small font.
