(4) Electrical check of the lower extension lead assembly.
CAUTION : REMOVE THE NEAREST CLAMPS WHICH ATTACH THE LEADS TO THE

R NOTE : Make sure that the connectors are clean and clear of unwanted

(a) Do a resistance check as follows:
R 1_Cut and remove the lockwires.

E E Aug 01/04 E E ECES ER 2_ Disconnect the lower extension lead from the parallel junctionR box of the R/H lower thermocouple lead assembly (lower right R T495 sector) and from the main junction box assembly R receptacle.

R 3_ Connect one CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02) to each lower extension lead connector.
R 4_ Connect the wires of one CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R RH (856A3318P02) to an ohmmeter, and short the wires of the R second one.
R 5_ Measure the ohmic resistance value. Subtract the two ohmicR lead resistance values of the tool to find the ohmic R resistance value of the upper extension lead.
R 6_ The final resistance value must be 1.60 ohm plus or minus 0.18R ohm.
R 7_ Disconnect the shorted CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R LH (856A3318P02). R
(b) Do an insulation check as follows:
R CAUTION : DISCONNECT THE SHORTED CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS
_______ R EGT (856A3318P02).
R 1_ Connect a megohmeter to the adapter lead CHECK - LEAD FORR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LH (856A3318P02) still connected.
R 2_ The insulation resistance value between the two conductorsR must be greater than 10 Megohms.
R 3_ The insulation resistance value between each conductor and theR connector casing must be greater than 10 Megohms.
R 4_ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RHR (856A3318P02) from the lower extension lead connector.
R 5_ Connect the lower extension lead to the parallel junction boxR of the R/H lower thermocouple lead assembly (lower right T495 R sector) and to the main junction box assembly receptacle.

R 6_ Torque the connecting nut to between 168 and 186 lbf.in (1.89
R and 2.10 m.daN) and safety with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm)
R dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
R (Material No. CP8002).

(5) Electrical checks of the main junction box assembly.

R (a) Do a resistance check as follows:
R 1_ Cut and remove the lockwires.R
R 2_ Disconnect the CJ13 harness and the upper and lower extensionR leads from the main junction box receptacles.
R 3_ Cut and remove the lockwires.
R 4_ Disconnect the branch connectors of main junction box assemblyR from the parallel junction box receptacles of L/H upper and R lower thermocouple lead assemblies.
R 5_ Connect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02) to one of the two branch connectors.
R 6_ Short the wires of CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02).
R 7_ Connect the connector (MIL-C 5015-10SL3S connector with testR lead) to the CJ13 interface harness receptacle.
R 8_ Connect the wires of the connector with test lead (MIL-CR 5015-10SL3S) to the ohmmeter, accuracy 1%.
R 9_Measure the ohmic resistance value.

E E Aug 01/04 E E ECES ER 10__ Subtract the ohmic resistance values of the connector withR test lead (MIL-C 5015-10SL3S) and of the CHECK - LEAD FOR R WIRING HARNESS EGT - LH (856A3318P02) from the value given in R paragraph above.

R 11__ The final resistance value must be 2.43 ohm plus or minus 0.23R ohm.
R 12__ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02), shorted from the branch connector, and connect R it to the other branch connector of main junction box R assembly.
R 13__ Repeat the same electrical check.
R 14__ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02) from the branch connector.
R (b) Do a resistance check of the wires inside the main junction box R assembly as follows:
