(a) Do a resistance check as follows:
R 1_ Cut and remove the lockwire.
R 2_ Disconnect the lower extension lead from the parallel junctionR box of the R/H lower thermocouple lead assembly, then the R branches of the main junction box assembly from the parallel R boxes of L/H upper and lower thermocouple lead assemblies.

R 3_ Connect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RH
R (856A3317P02) to the parallel junction box receptacle of the
R thermocouple lead assembly that you have to check.
4_ Connect the wires of CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RH
(856A3317P02) to the ohmmeter, accuracy 1%.
R 5_ Measure and record the ohmic resistance value. Subtract the
R lead ohmic resistance value of the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING
R HARNESS EGT - RH (865A3317P02) to find the ohmic resistance
R value A of the thermocouple lead assembly.
R 6_ Invert the wires of the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -
R RH (856A3317P02). Measure and record the ohmic resistance
R value. Subtract the lead ohmic resistance value of the tool to
R find the ohmic resistance value B of the thermocouple lead
R assembly.
R 7_ Add the ohmic resistance values A and B, and divide them by
R two. The resultant value must be 0.61 ohm plus or minus 0.12
R ohm.
(b) Do an insulation check as follows:
1_ Strap the two wires of the adapter lead, and connect them to a
R terminal of the megohmeter.
R 2_ Connect the other terminal of the megohmeter to the casing.
R The insulation resistance value must be greater than 10
R meghoms.
R 3_ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RH
R (856A3317P02) from the thermocouple lead assembly.
R 4_ Connect the lower extension lead to the parallel junction box
R of the R/H lower thermocouple lead assembly, then the branches
R of the main junction box assembly to the parallel boxes of L/H
R upper and lower thermocouple lead assemblies.
R 5_ Torque the connecting nut to between 168 and 186 lbf.in (1.89
R and 2.10 m.daN) and safety with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm)
R dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
R (Material No. CP8002).
