R NOTE : Make sure that the connectors are clean and clear of unwanted
____ R materials.
(a) Do a resistance check as follows:
R 1_ Cut and remove the lockwire.
R 2_ Disconnect the upper extension lead from the parallel junctionR box of the R/H thermocouple lead assembly (upper right T495 R sector).
R 3_ Connect the wires of the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R RH (856A3317P02) to the ohmmeter, accuracy 1%.
R 4_ Measure and record the ohmic resistance value of the leadR (Resistance leads).
R 5_ Connect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RHR (856A3317P02) to the parallel junction box receptacle of the R thermocouple lead assembly.
R 6_ Connect the wires of the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R RH (856A3317P02) to the ohmmeter, accuracy 1%.
R 7_ Measure and record the ohmic resistance value. Subtract theR "resistance leads" value of the tool to find the ohmic R resistance value A of the thermocouple lead assembly.
R 8_ Invert the wires of the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R RH (856A3317P02). Measure and record the ohmic resistance R value. Subtract the "resistance leads" value of the tool to R find the ohmic resistance value B of the thermocouple lead R assembly.
R 9_ Add the ohmic resistance values A and B, and divide them byR two. The resultant value must be 0.64 ohm plus or minus 0.12 R ohm.

(b) Do an insulation check as follows:
1 Strap the two wires of the adapter lead, and connect them to a
_ R terminal of the megohmeter.
R 2_ Connect the other terminal of the megohmeter to the casing.
R The insulation resistance must be greater than 10 Megohms.
R 3_ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RH
R (856A3317P02) from the thermocouple lead assembly.
R 4_ Connect the upper extension lead to the parallel junction box
R of the R/H lower thermocouple lead assembly.
R 5_ Torque the connecting nut to between 168 and 186 lbf.in (1.89
R and 2.10 m.daN) and safety with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm)
R dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
R (Material No. CP8002).
(3) Electrical check of the upper extension lead assembly.

R 3_ Connect one CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - LHR (856A3318P02) to each upper extension lead connector.
R 4_ Connect the wires of one CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R RH (856A3317P02) to the ohmmeter, and short the wires of the R second one.
R 5_ Measure the ohmic resistance value. Subtract the two ohmicR lead resistance values of the tool to find the ohmic R resistance value of the upper extension lead.

R 7_ Disconnect the shorted CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT -R LH (856A3318P02). R
(b) Do an insulation check as follows:
R CAUTION : DISCONNECT THE SHORTED ADAPTER LEAD.

R 1_ Connect the megohmeter to the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS
R EGT - LH (856A3318P02) still connected.
R 2_ The insulation resistance value between the two conductors
R must be greater than 10 Megohms.
R 3_ The insulation resistance value between each conductor and the
R connector casing must be greater than 10 Megohms.
R 4_ Disconnect the CHECK - LEAD FOR WIRING HARNESS EGT - RH
R (856A3318P02) from the upper extension lead connector.
R 5_ Connect the upper extension lead to the parallel junction box
R of the R/H thermocouple lead assembly (upper right T495
R sector) and to the main junction box assembly receptacle.
R 6_ Torque the connecting nut to between 168 and 186 lbf.in (1.89
