GENERAL
INTRODUCTION
Applicable to:
This chapter provides the one engine out performance data to be used for the conduct and
monitoring of the flight following an engine failure.
The diversion strategy (descent and cruise speed schedules) shall be selected, and specified in the
operator’s routes specifications, as a function of the prevailing operational factors (e.g. obstacles
clearance requirements).

The following FCOM sections provide flight preparation and fuel planning information :
• Refer to PER-FPL-GEN-INT INTRODUCTION, for Standard Fuel Planning,
• REFER TO PRO SPO 40A 10 GEN, for Extended Range Operation (ETOPS) and associated fuel
requirements.
STRATEGY
Applicable to:
In most cases, no constraining obstacle will be found on the route and the standard strategy will be
adopted :
descent at M .82/300 ‐ kt, maximum continuous thrust.
‐ cruise close to LRC ceiling (optimum altitude).
‐ descent to destination at 300 kt/250 kt, idle thrust.
If constraining obstacles are on the route, the obstacle strategy will be adopted :
‐ descent then cruise at green dot speed, maximum continuous thrust.
‐ as soon as obstacles are cleared, reversion to standard strategy.
The in cruise check tables show the fuel and the time required to cover a given air distance from any
moment in cruise to landing.
The tables are established for :
‐ Long range speed
‐ Descent at M .82/300 kt/250 kt
‐ Approach and Landing (330 kg or 720 lb - 6 min IFR)
‐ ISA conditions
‐ A CG of 30 %
‐ Pack flow LO
‐ Anti ice OFF
Note: Approximate increase in fuel consumption compared to all engine operative.
