4. RECOVERY PROCEDURES
A. Windshear Warning
Windshear warnings are indicated as follows:
• (Siren) “WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR” aural.
• WINDSHEAR warning message on PFD.
NOTE
The autopilot (if engaged) will automatically disconnect, and the
flight director bars will be removed within two (2) seconds after
a windshear warning.
During take-off, approach or landing:
(1) Thrust levers.....................................................Advance thrust levers to maximum
take-off thrust.
(2) Airplane ............................................................... Rotate smoothly to go-around/take-off
pitch attitude, and allow
airspeed to decrease, if
necessary.
NOTE
Stick shaker must be respected. Reduce pitch attitude sufficient to
stop shaker.

A. Windshear Warning (Cont’d)
If airplane is descending:
(3) Pitch attitude..................................................... Increase smoothly and in small
increments, reducing airspeed
as necessary to stop descent.
(4) Airplane configuration....................................... Maintain until positively out of
windshear condition:
• Do not change flap, gear or
trim position until
WINDSHEAR warning
message is removed and
above 1,500 feet AGL.
WARNING
If ground or obstacle contact is imminent, use all available engine
thrust.
B. Windshear Caution
Windshear cautions are indicated as follows:
• WINDSHEAR caution message on PFD.
During take-off, approach or landing:
(1) Thrust levers/TOGA switch .................... Advance/press Advance thrust levers to
maximum take-off thrust, while
simultaneously pressing either
take-off or go-around (TOGA)
switch.
(2) Normal go-around ............................................... Initiate

1. GROUND PROXIMITY ALERT
Ground proximity alerts are indicated as follows:
• “GLIDESLOPE”, “PULL UP”, “SINK RATE”, “TERRAIN”, “DON’T SINK”, “TOO LOW
TERRAIN”, “TOO LOW GEAR”, “TOO LOW FLAPS” aurals.
• GPWS or GS lights on.
(1) Airplane flight path or
configuration....................................................... Correct

On airplanes incorporating Service Bulletin 604–34–020 or 604–34–025:
2. ENHANCED GPWS
A. Ground Proximity Warning During Flight
Ground proximity warnings are indicated as follows:
• “TERRAIN, TERRAIN, PULL UP”, “OBSTACLE, OBSTACLE, PULL UP”, and “PULL
UP” aurals.
When a ground proximity warning occurs, immediately initiate a smooth pull up and
advance thrust levers to maximum take-off thrust, ascend at the best climb angle until
all alerts cease, and it is confirmed that a safe ground clearance exists.
NOTE
Nuisance terrain/obstacle awareness warnings may be disabled
by pressing either GPWS TERR INHB switch/lights.
B. Ground Proximity Caution During Flight
Ground proximity cautions are indicated as follows:
• “CAUTION TERRAIN”, “CAUTION OBSTACLE”, “TERRAIN”, “TOO LOW TERRAIN”,
“TOO LOW GEAR”, “TOO LOW FLAPS”, “SINK RATE”, “DON’T SINK” or
“GLIDESLOPE” aurals.
• GND PROX lights on.
(1) Airplane flight path or
configuration....................................................... Correct
NOTE
1. Ground proximity “TOO LOW FLAPS” nuisance alerts may
be disabled by selecting the GPWS/FLAP OVRD (if
installed) to OVRD, when landing with flaps selected to other
than 45°.
2. Ground proximity “GLIDESLOPE” nuisance alerts may be
cancelled by momentarily pressing either PULL UP/GND
PROX switch/lights when below 2,000 feet AGL. The
glideslope cancel will be reset when descending below 30
