thrust. The default altitude is 1500 feet and allowable entries are
from 800 feet to 9999 feet AGL. The selected climb thrust rating
will also show on this line (CLB, CLB-1, or CLB-2).
WARNING: DO NOT CHANGE THE TAKEOFF REF PAGES. IF
YOU MADE CHANGES, REMOVE ALL THE
CHANGES. MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO FIXED
DERATES SELECTED. MAKE SURE THE SEL TEMP
FIELD ON PAGES 1/2 AND 2/2 IS EMPTY.
CHANGES TO THE TAKEOFF REF PAGES CAN
CAUSE A LOWER THRUST AT TAKEOFF THAN
THE THRUST THAT THE FLIGHT CREW
CALCULATED.

737-600/700/800/900 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
34-61-00-066
Purpose
The CLB pages let the flight crew review and select one of these
climb performance modes:
* Economy climb (ECON CLB)
* Maximum angle climb (MAX ANGLE CLB)
* Manual speed climb (XXX KT CLB)
* Maximum rate of climb (MAX RATE CLB)
* Step climb during cruise (CRZ CLB)
* Required time of arrival (RTA CLB).
Also, there is an ENG OUT page which shows advisory
information only (VNAV cannot be engaged in this mode).
Page Access
Selection of the CLB mode key on the CDU provides access to
the climb page.
Climb Pages
The default climb mode is the economy (ECON) mode but the
other modes may be selected from this page.
The CRZ CLB page will show automatically when the flight crew
enter a higher cruise altitude on the CRZ page. Cruise climbs
give the flight crew the means of initiating step climbs during
cruise. These climbs will be done at the airplane’s cruise
speed.
The MANUAL SPD CLB page will show automatically when the
flight crew enters a different target speed.
This data shows on each page:
* Target cruise altitude
* Target speed (highlighted)
* Speed restriction
* Active waypoint
* Distance and time to active waypoint or flight level
* Predicted undershoot at active waypoint
* Target N1.
On the CRZ CLB page, the predicted undershoot is replaced by
the wind speed and direction data.
Also on the CRZ CLB page, the target N1 values are replaced
by the savings/penalty for the specified step climb. These
values show as a percentage.
On the RTA CLB page, time and distance to the active waypoint
is replaced by the time error at the active waypoint.

This data shows on each page:
* Actual cruise altitude
* Optimum and maximum cruise altitudes
* Target speed (highlighted)
* Turbulence N1 target
* Fuel remaining at destination
* Step to altitude
* Step point (ETA and DTG)
* Current wind speed and direction
* Predicted savings/penalty if airplane is flown to a selected
step altitude.
The turbulence N1 target is advisory information for the flight
crew only and cannot be used by the FMCS.
On the RTA CRZ page, the turbulence N1 target is replaced by
the RTA time error.
