The Cabin Faults section is divided into systems. These are the cabin systems:
(a)
Communications
(b)

(c)
Emergency Equipment
(d)
Galleys

For each system, there is a series of components. For each component, there is a list of problem descriptions and a fault code. The final 3 digits of the fault code for any cabin fault is "---", which allows the user to insert a location code there.

At the end of the Cabin Faults section there are illustrations which give a 3-digit location code for each piece of cabin equipment.

FAULT REPORTING MANUAL
4. Using the FRM to Report Faults
______________________________
A. When a fault occurs, the flight crew must do all applicable operations manual procedures before using the FRM. The FRM does not take precedence over any Boeing Operations, Flight, or Minimum Equipment List documents.
B. To find a fault in the FRM, go to the applicable section and look for the text which matches the fault. Find the fault code on the same line as the fault description. Write this fault code in the airplane log book.
(1)
It is possible to send the fault code ahead to the destination before the airplane lands. This allows the maintenance crew to prepare for isolation of the fault.
(2)
You can send the message to the destination with voice radio or with the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).
