 C.  The Fault Reporting Manual and the Fault Isolation Manual together provide a structured method for the airplane operator to report and correct faults in airplane systems. The manuals are linked by a unique 8-digit fault code for each fault.
 (1)  
The Fault Reporting Manual (FRM) is primarily for the flight crews and the cabin crews. It contains four alphabetical lists of faults, with a fault code for each fault.

 (2)  
The Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) is for the maintenance crews. It contains alphabetical lists and numerical indexes of all the faults given in the FRM. The FIM also has a fault isolation procedure for each of the faults.
