CLOCKS -DATE SET
General
You can not change or set the UTC and date from the AIMS UTCF. You can only change the clock time and date that the clock calculates. The time/date control switch must be in MAN.
To set the date, push the time/date switch so the date mode is active then use the set control switch to change the day and year. The HD (hours, days) position changes the days. The MM (minutes, months) position changes the months. The HLDY (hold, year) position changes the year. The RUN position makes the clock calculate the date.
When you select HD, MM, or HLDY on the set control switch, the days, months, or years change until you select RUN.

CLOCKS -CLOCK TIME AND DATE SET FROM AIMS
Power-Up
If the time/date control switch is in MAN when the clock first receives power, the clock shows 00 hours, 00 minutes and does not change. You can use the AIMS UTC and date to set the clock time.
Update of Clock Time and Date From AIMS UTCF
Put the time/date control switch in the UTC position. This causes the clock to:

Show UTC from the AIMS universal time (coordinated) function (UTCF)

Use the UTC from the AIMS as a starting point for an internal time accumulator. Once the accumulator starts, it does not look at UTC from the AIMS UTCF.
Put the time/date control switch in MAN. This causes the clock to show UTC and date from its internal time accumulator.
Power-up With Time/Date Control Switch in UTC
If the time/date control switch is in UTC when the clock receives power for the first time, the clock shows the AIMS UTC if it is valid.

CLOCKS -ELAPSED TIME
General
Elapsed time shows on the lower LCD display.
Use the elapsed time control switch to stop, start, and reset the elapsed time.
The elapsed time control switch has a spring in the RESET position, thus, it will not stay in that position.

CLOCKS -CHRONOGRAPH FUNCTION
General
The minutes show on the lower LCD display. The sweep second hand indicates the seconds. The chronograph function does not calculate hours.
When the chronograph time shows, the clock continues to update the elapsed time function internally.
Use the chronograph control switch on the clock or the clock switch on the glare shield panel (P7) to start, stop, and reset the chronograph.

CLOCKS -FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Inputs * Clock status data.
The clock gets 28v dc for power.
The clock receives universal time (coordinated) UTC and date from the AIMS universal time (coordinated) function (UTCF).
A multiplexer senses the position of all the switches on the clock and also the clock switch on the glareshield panel P7.
Calculations and Outputs
A microprocessor does all the time calculations and controls the outputs of the clock.
A stepper motor moves the sweep second hand when the chronograph function is in use.
