MAINTENANCE DOCUMENTS -- BITE MANUAL General
The BITE manual has the procedures to get fault data from the airplane built in test equipment (BITE). It has these sections:
- How To Use The BITE Manual
- BITE Procedure Index
- Observed Fault List
-BITE procedure tasks.
The BITE manual has clear and easy steps to help you follow procedures and find Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) references. It gives the component location for BITE access. It has BITE procedure tasks for easy BITE instructions. It is smaller and easier to carry than the FIM. The observed fault list and the BITE procedure tasks are same as the FIM only in a smaller format.
How To Use BITE Manual
In the How To Use BITE manual sections you see instructions on how to use the BITE manual.
The How To Use BITE manual section is the same as the How to use the FIM, figure 2 in the fault isolation manual.
BITE Procedure Index
The BITE Procedure Index is a list of all the BITE procedures indexed by LRU and system. It is an easy way to find a procedure.

Observed Fault List
The observed fault list is a system order list of flight deck effects or faults that the flight crew or the ground service crew can see. These are the items in the list:
-Fault description
-Fault code
-FIM task number.
The observed fault list in system order is the same as the observed fault list in system order in the fault isolation manual.
BITE Procedure Tasks
BITE procedure tasks give the BITE procedures for that unit. These BITE procedures are the same as the BITE procedures in the fault isolation manual.
