E. Remove the component.

(1) Open these circuit breakers on the main power distribution panel, P6, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
For bottle 1:
1) 6H1, FIRE EXTINGUISHING ENG L BTL 1
2) 6H3, FIRE EXTINGUISHING ENG R BTL 1
(b)
For bottle 2:
1) 6H2, FIRE EXTINGUISHING ENG L BTL 2
2) 6H4, FIRE EXTINGUISHING ENG R BTL 2

(2) Disconnect the electrical connectors from the applicable bottle squibs and pressure switch. Refer to Table 401.

WARNING:_______PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. IF YOU DO NOT PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB, THE FIRE BOTTLE CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT PUT A SHUNT PLUG ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. THE SHUNT PLUG CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SQUIB PINS.

Put a protective cover on the fire bottle squibs.

Remove the ground strap from the bottle ground lug, if it is installed.
NOTE:____Ground straps are not installed on all airplanes. Some fire extinguishing bottles are grounded through the bottle mounting flange.

Disconnect the discharge hoses.

Install the discharge port caps on the bottle discharge ports.

Remove the nuts and bolts (four places) from the mounting lugs.

Remove the extinguisher bottle.

5. Install the Engine Fire Extinguisher Bottle 1 or 2 (as applicable) (Fig. 401)__________________________________________________
A. General
(1) The two engine fire extinguisher bottles are in the front of the aft cargo compartment. Each fire extinguisher bottle has two discharge cartridges (squibs). The removal/installation procedure is the same for both bottles and squibs.
