Clean and paint the mating surfaces of the stop plate and threshold (Ref 51-24-04/701).

Make sure the rivet holes in the threshold and stop plate can accept 3/16-inch, NAS1399, blind rivets.

If it is necessary, drill and countersink the rivet holes.
NOTE:____Bolts are used in the inboard holes. Do not drill the holes for rivets in these locations.

Install the stop plate on the threshold with NAS1399M or NAS1399MW blind rivets in the correct locations.

Install the bolts.

MAIN ENTRY DOOR SCUFF PLATE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The first task is the removal of the scuff plates for the passenger entry door.
(2)
The second task is the installation of the scuff plates for the passenger entry door.
B. You must replace the scuff plates for a passenger entry door when the scuff plates are worn or defective.
C. The clearances between the scuff plates and the airplane structure are sealed for aerodynamic smoothness.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SEALANT FROM THE EXTERNAL

(1) Remove the scuff plate fasteners.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the scuff plate or the airplane
