A. A converted power supply derived from two transformer-rectifier (T-R) units is the principal source of 28 volts dc. These units are backed up by a third T-R. T-R 3 is arranged to supply power to both the No. 1 and No. 2 dc buses (Fig. 2).
B. When the bus transfer switch (S2) is in the AUTO position and the No. 2 transfer relay (R4) normal coil is energized, the T-R 3 disconnect relay (R9) is also energized and connects T-R 3 to the No. 1 dc bus.

DC GENERATION SYSTEM – TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. General
A. Trouble shooting procedures are based on performance of the system adjustment/test and are presented in tree-type format. Steps making up trouble shooting tree are connected by lines to show OK condition path. When all steps on OK condition path check out, system is operable.
B. When a test step does not check out take corrective action listed. Perform specified corrective action, then repeat step at which failure occurred.
C. Trouble shooting procedures are based on the assumption that wiring is OK and electrical power is available. If corrective action does not correct problem, check wiring using the wiring diagram.
D. After completion of trouble shooting, check that system has been returned to normal.
(1)
Check that all circuit breakers on P6-5 and P6-6 panel are closed.
(2)
Check that BATTERY CHARGER circuit breaker on battery control shield is closed.
(3)
Check that fuse or protector on battery positive lead has been removed.
(4)
Check that STANDBY POWER switch is set to AUTO.
(5)
Check that BUS TRANS switch is set to AUTO.
(6)
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-0, MP).
(7)
Check that battery switch is set to OFF.
2. Prepare for Trouble Shooting
A. Provide external electrical AC power to airplane (Ref 24-22-0, MP).
B. Open DC circuit breakers on P6-5 and P6-6 panels ALL EXCEPT:
(1)
TR 3 DC INDICATION.
(2)
DC BUS 2 INDICATION.
(3)
DC BUS 1 INDICATION.
(4)
HOT BAT BUS INDICATION.
(5)
BAT BUS INDICATION.
(6)
STDBY DC BUS INDICATION (IF INSTALLED).
C. Check that M238 electrical power annunciator panel is operable and DC BUS PWR ON lights on module illuminate. Check that M400 power system test module is operable.
D. Check that AC and DC meter panels on P5 overhead panel are operable and that meters read correctly.
