HUD Mode (MODE)
Displays HUD mode:

NP - non-precision mode
.
AI - Cat I approach mode
.
AII - Cat II approach mode
.
AIII -Cat IIIa approach mode.
Active mode is highlighted.
Reference Glideslope (G/S ANGLE)
Displays glideslope angle (minus sign not displayed as value is always negative):
.
the default value is 3.00°
.
valid entry is 2.00° to 4.00°, however, entries between 2.50° and 3.00° are
required for AIII mode operation
.
an invalid value entered results in a “G/S INVALID” message on the
scratchpad.
.
a value of 0 removes the glideslope reference line from the combiner
display
Runway Length (RWY LENGTH)
Displays runway length:
.
the default value is 10000 feet
.
valid entry is between 5000 and 15000 feet, however, entries between
5500 and 13600 feet are required for AIII mode operation
.
an invalid value entered results in a “LENGTH INVALID” message on
the scratchpad.
Runway Elevation (RWY ELEV)
Displays runway elevation:
.
the default value is 0 feet
.
when a runway is selected for departure or arrival, the nav database
runway elevation is set as the default
.
valid entry is between -1000 and 12000 feet
.
an invalid value entered results in a “ELEVATION INVALID” message
on the scratchpad.
Maintenance (MAINT)
Used for maintenance purposes only. Displayed only on the ground.

Self Test (TEST)
Allows selection of the HUD self test:

after selection, initially shows “RUNNING”. After completion, the CDU shows either “PASSED” or “FAILED”
.
a test pattern shows on the combiner which allows the pilot to adjust for optimum viewing. Successful alignment results in the following pattern clearly visible to the pilot.

Minimums (MINS) Reference Selector (outer) (two position)
RADIO – selects radio altitude as the minimums reference BARO – selects barometric altitude as the minimums reference.
Minimums (MINS) Selector (middle) (slew)
ROTATE – adjusts the radio or baro minimums altitude.
Radio Minimums (MINS) Reset (RST) Switch (inner) (momentary action)
PUSH –

resets the alert minimums annunciation
.
blanks minimums display if alert is not active.
Meters (MTRS) Switch (momentary action)
PUSH – displays altitude indications in meters.
Barometric (BARO) Reference Selector (outer) (two position)
IN – selects inches of mercury as the barometric altitude reference HPA – selects hectopascals as the barometric altitude reference.
Barometric (BARO) Selector (middle) (slew)
ROTATE –

adjusts the barometric altitude setting on the altitude tape
.
if STD displayed, adjusts the preselected BARO reference.
Barometric (BARO) Standard (STD) Switch (inner) (momentary action)
PUSH –
.
selects the standard barometric setting (29.92 inches Hg/1013 HPA) for
barometric altitude reference
.
if STD is displayed, selects the preselected barometric reference
.
if no preselected barometric is displayed, displays the last value before
STD was selected.
Flight Path Vector (FPV) Switch (momentary action)
YA613 - YC413, YK101 - YK104
PUSH – displays flight path vector on the attitude indicator.
