ALERTING MESSAGE  CAUSE  CORRECTIVE ACTION 
RESET MCP ALT  U10.5 and earlier: During the FMC cruise phase, when within 5 NM of the top-of-descent point without selecting a lower altitude on the AFDS MCP. U10.5A and later: During the FMC cruise phase with VNAV engaged, when within 5 NM of the top-of-descent point without selecting a lower altitude on the AFDS MCP.  Select lower MCP altitude values as clearances permit. 
RTA UNACHIEVABLE  The RTA is not in the computed RTA window under current parameters.  Enter an achievable RTA or discontinue the RTA mode of navigation. Adjust parameters to meet the RTA. 
RW/APP TUNE  U10.4 and later: During  Clear the message and 
DISAGREE  approach, manual tuned approach frequency or channel does not match active flight plan.  select correct approach frequency. 
RW/APP CRS ERROR  U10.4 and later: During approach, MCP selected course does not match front course for the approach in the active flight plan.  Clear the message and select correct MCP course. 
SCANNING DME FAIL  Inputs from both frequency scanning DME radios have failed.  Clear the message and check position. Radio updating of FMC position is not available. 
SELECT MODE AFTER RTA  RTA mode has been discontinued due to sequencing of RTA waypoint or RTA waypoint has been removed from the flight plan.  Select desired navigation mode. (ECON, manual speed, etc.)

ALERTING MESSAGE  CAUSE  CORRECTIVE ACTION 
SINGLE FMC  The primary FMC has  If the FMC source selector 
OPERATION  determined that the secondary FMC is not available. (Dual FMC as installed)  switch is in the “Normal” position, move to “BOTH ON L”. No action is required if the FMC source selector switch is already positioned to “BOTH ON L” or “BOTH ON R”. 
TAKEOFF SPEEDS  U10.0: Runway or runway  Reselect new V speeds and 
DELETED  data is changed after the V speeds have been entered. U10.1 thru U10.5A: A change to runway, runway data, takeoff thrust selection or performance data is made after the V speeds have been selected. U10.6 and later: A change to runway, runway data, takeoff thrust selection or performance data is made after the V speeds have been selected, or entered V speeds fail to meet relative value check.  clear message. 
THRUST REQUIRED  U10.5 and later: Airplane is in an underspeed condition.  Clear the message. Increase airspeed to within 15 knots of speed target. 
UNABLE HOLD  U10.2 and later: LNAV  Review the holding pattern. 
AIRSPACE  guided holding pattern may exceed allowable hold airspace due to LNAV performance limited bank angle.  If holding pattern exceeds allowable holding airspace, consider flight plan change.

UNABLE PROC  U10.6 and later: Minimum  Modify flight plan as

VERIFY GW AND FUEL  Fuel data becomes invalid, PERF INIT fuel value is replaced with dashes. FMC uses last valid fuel quantity for performance predictions until manual entry is made. Shows if 30 minutes have elapsed since last manual entry. Does not show in descent with Vref selected.  Enter fuel weight on PERF INIT page 1/2. Periodic update of fuel weight is required to keep gross weight value current.
