Regular audits by independent parties (such
as ICAO) confirmed that the Certification
Directorate and the Agency as a whole are on
the right track towards fulfilling their obligations
and providing a high level of aviation safety.
6.3. Rulemaking
The Agency‘s Rulemaking Directorate contributes
to the production of all EU legislation
and implementation material related to the
regulation of civil aviation safety and
environmental compatibility. It submits opinions
to the European Commission and must be
consulted by the Commission on any technical
question in its field of competence.
It is also in charge of the related
international co-operation. Table 6-1 identifies
the current rulemaking tasks with a direct
impact on the identified accident and incident
category.
