Subject: GIV AFM Revision 25 dated 13 September 2000
The main purpose of this revision is to incorporate ASC 420 – Removal of APU Loadmeter.
Gulfstream’s intent is to maintain increased altitude performance of the APU with air inlet scoop
installed and allow the removal of the APU Loadmeter from the airplane. There is a parts
obsolescence issue with the APU Loadmeter and it will be removed from the production airplane
at a later date.
At the request of GIV-SP Customers, Appendix E (Adverse Weather/Abnormal Atmospheric
Conditions) is being returned to the Appendix for the GIV-SP version of the AFM. Additionally,
Revision 25 adds three new tables to Appendix E for GIV-SP Operators. These new tables reflect
the latest guidance from the FAA regarding deicing/anti-icing fluid mixtures. The remainder of
this revision pertains mainly to correcting typographical errors from Revision 24.

Subject: GIV AFM Revision 24 dated 31 May 2000
Revision 24 to the GIV AFM is a re-issue of the GIV AFM in the GV ATA chapter format. As
noted in the Log of Revisions, a few new items have been added to bring the GIV AFM up to the
same standard as the GV AFM.
The RNP0.3 authorization that was added to Section 1 - Limitations in Revision 23 has been
deleted in Revision 24 at the request of FAA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The FAA
requested additional information from GAC and Honeywell regarding the FMS and RNP0.3
requirements. We expect to be able to reinstate the RNP0.3 authorization in a future revision.
Please note that the Systems Section and all Operational Information Supplements have been
removed from the AFM in this revision. A new document, the GIV Operating Manual (OM) has
been created. The GIV OM contains additional information on all systems in the GIV and is
similar in style and content with the GV OM. All Operational Information Supplements have
now been incorporated into the AFM, OM or both.
As a result of the Systems Section being deleted, the Performance Section has now become
Section 5 for GIV-SP aircraft. This re-issue of GIV-SP Performance was the result of digitizing
the data for subsequent use in CD-ROM format. GIV Performance (non-SP) has yet to be
digitized, thus is still published as Section 6 in this revision. GIV Operators (non-SP) should use
Section 6 data with the new Section 5 tab. GIV Performance (non-SP) will be digitized and reissued
in a future revision as Section 5.
