NOTES:
1. The XDCE is not necessarily in the same state as the DTEDCE interface.
2. This is the DTE packet received via the DCE after all DTUDCE processing has occurred. Procedures local to the
DTWDCE interface (such as RR, RNR, and RETECT if in effect), do not afect the XDCE directly. All error procedures
as documcntcd in I$O 8208 have been performed. Hence certain packets are rejected by the interface and a x not
represented in this table.
3. The DCE in its protocol operation with the DTE will dctcct this error condition, hence the erroneous packet can be said
never to "reach" the XDCE; see also Note 2.
4. Table entries are defined as follows: A = action to be taken, S = the state to be entered, D = the diagnostic code to be
used in packets generated as a result of this action, DISCARD indicates that the received packet is ro be cleared from the
XDLP buffers, and INVALID indicates that the packeustate combination cannot occur.
5. The number in parentheses below an "A = NORMAL" table entry is the paragraph number in this document that defines
thc actions to be taken to perform normal processing on the received packet. If no paragraph number is referenced, the
normal processing is defined in the table entry.

NOTES:
1. The XDCE is not necessarily in the same state as the DTEIDCE interface.
2. This is the DTE packet received via the DCE after all DTmCE processing has occurred. hocedures local. to
the DTElDCE interface (such as KR, RNR, and REJECT if in effect), do not affcct the XDCE directly. All
error procedures as documented in IS0 8208 have been perfonned. Hence certain packets are rejected by the
interface and are not represented in this state.
3. The DCE in its protocol operation with the DTE will detect this error condition, hence the erroneous packet
can be said never to "reach" the XDCE; see also Note 2.
4. Table entries are defined as follows: A = action to be taken, S - the state to be entered, D = the diagnostic
code to be used in packets generated as a result of this action, DISCARD indicates that the received packet is
to be cleared from the XDLP buffers, and INVALID indicates that the packetJstate combination cannot occur.

that defines the actions to be taken to perform normal processing on the received packet. If no paragraph
number is referenced, the normal processing is dcfined in the table entry.
