III. AIRCRAFT & PILOT PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES
A. Many of the Rocky Mountain Region’s ADS missions flown since 1994 have utilized USFS Regional aircraft, N126Z. This single-engine aircraft is a Cessna Station Air turbo 206 equipped with a photo-port, two panel mounted (P25) digital aeronautical VHF-FM transceiver (Technisonic Industries TDFM-136), TCAD, AFF and GPS unit.
B. Additional USFS aircraft and/ or contract aircraft are required to complete annual ADS missions. Contract aircraft are procured through the USFS Region 2 Acquisition Management Staff using standard contracting procedures. In 2011 Region 2 has exercised option year 2 of 4 option years for the following two light fixed wing call-when-needed contracts with mandatory use periods during the ADS season.
