Component Locations
These engine air cooling and compressor control components are on the back of the intermediate case:
*
TVBC air shutoff valve solenoid
*
TVBC pneumatic relay valve
*
Number 3 bearing buffer air cooler.
You must remove a fan exit liner segment to get access to these components.

These components are on the right side of the high pressure compressor and turbine cases:
*
Thrust balance air shutoff valve
*
2.9 start bleed valve and thermocouple probes (2)
*
TVBC pneumatic relay valve
*
TVBC air shutoff valve solenoid

PS3 bleed air filters (2)
*
TVC air valve
*
TVC air valve actuator
*
TVBC air shutoff valve
*
Variable stator vane actuator

AIR -FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
General
During engine operation, the cooling and airflow control systems operate automatically.
Compressor Stator Vane Control
The IGV, and the 5th, 6th, and 7th stage variable stator vanes control the airflow through the HPC. The EEC controls the variable stator vane actuator as a function of:
