1. Leveling________
A. General
(1)
You can use a plumb bob, an attitude gage or an engineer's transit to help make the airplane level.
(2)
After a repair or a modification it is possible it will be necessary to do a check of the alignment of the airplane structure. To do this, you must use a more accurate tool to help you make the airplane level. An engineer's transit works well for this. For all the details on how to do an alignment check, refer to the Structural Repair Manual Chapter 51, Alignment Check Procedure.

LEVEL AIRPLANE USING PLUMB BOB -

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains a task to make the airplane level.
B. This task uses a plumb bob to make the airplane level. Do this task when you jack the airplane to weigh it, to do general maintenance, or for gear retraction tests.

Park the airplane in the most level position available.
S 482-003
(2)
Hang a plumb bob from the bracket identified LEVEL HERE in the right main wheel well.
NOTE:____The bracket is directly above the leveling scale. The plumb bob cord must be on the outboard side (decal side) of the support bracket. The plumb bob must be clear of the target by less than 1/8 inch.

Examine the position of the plumb bob when it does not move.
