COOLING SYSTEM
Applicable to: ALL
The cooling system consists of two fans, one in the antenna area and one in the avionics
compartment that draws air through the system components.
Note: The Broadband System including cooling fans are automatically powered off upon detection
of cooling system fault or smoke detection.

FAULT DETECTION SYSTEM
Applicable to: ALL
The Broadband Cooling System and smoke detectors are monitored by a fault detection system. If a
fault is detected by the system, a white FAULT light is indicated on the overhead Broadband System
panel and the system is automatically switched off.
Note: For futher information regarding smoke detection Refer to DSC-26-10 DESCRIPTION.

OVERHEAD PANEL
Applicable to: ALL
(1) SYS PWR pb :
ON : System power is ON
OFF : System power is OFF. The white OFF light comes on and the aural smoke
warning chime, if activated, is muted.
FAULT lt : Comes on white in case of cooling system fault and in case of detected smoke
(together with visual (red) smoke warning and aural warning).
(2) SMOKE-CHM RST pb :
OVHD : Comes on red when smoke is detected in the antenna area.
AVNCS : Comes on red when smoke is detected in the avionics compartment.
Note: Momentarily pressing and releasing the SMOKE/CHM RST pb during a smoke event
mutes the aural smoke warning chime.
(3) XMT GND pb :
ENBL : Comes on white to indicate system transmission active when the aircraft is
under 10,000 ft, and on ground.

: Transmit function disabled when aircraft is under 10,000 ft and on ground.
CHM TEST button
Pressed : Activates the aural smoke warning chime if the SYS PWR pb is ON.
