The crew accesses this page by selecting SAT on the MCDU MAIN page.
2L (4L) This field displays the SATCOM channel 1 (2) status :
‐ AVAILABLE : The channel is ready to support a call.
‐ NOT AVAILABLE : The channel is not available (failed or not logged).
‐ DIALING : Cockpit call in progress.
‐ INCOMING CALL : Advises of an incoming ground to air call.
‐ CONNECTED : The circuit is connected.
‐ CALL FAILED : The transmission is interrupted.
3L This field displays :
‐ The selected phone number (or its title), in case of an air to ground call.
‐ GRND-AIR CALL, in case of a ground to air call when the channel status is
CONNECTED.
‐ PRIORITY N, where N represents the priority level, in case of a ground to air
call when the channel status is INCOMING CALL.

2R This field displays the priority (PRI) of the selected phone number for air to
ground calls.
PRI 1 : Emergency and distress calls only. ‐ This priority activates alarms in
all ground stations.
‐ PRI 2 : Regulatory and flight safety calls.
‐ PRI 3 : Non flight safety calls. It is displayed as default priority value.
‐ PRI 4 : Passenger correspondence calls.
6L This key provides access to the SATCOM SUBMENU page, which contains LOG
ON and channel status information.
6R This key provides access to the SATCOM DIRECTORY page.

‐ The number, if the MANUAL DIAL option is used.

5R This key provides access to the Manual Dial page. This page allows the dialing of
a phone number.
6L This key provides access to the SATCOM STATUS page, which contains LOG
ON and channel status information.
6R This key provides access to the SATCOM DIRECTORY page.

This page provides access to 4 pre-recorded phone number lists and to a manual dial function.
These functions can be customized in the Owner Requirement Table (ORT).
1L, 2L, 1R, 2R Provides the display of the CATEGORY 1, 2, 3, 4 NUMBERS page (Refer to
DSC-23-45-20-A MCDU INTERFACE - SATCOM CATEGORY NUMBERS
PAGE). The names of these pre-recorded phone number lists can be
customized.
4L Validates a ground station identification number that has been entered in
the scratchpad. The display and availability of this field depend on the ORT
setting.
5L Validates a telephone number that has been entered in the scratchpad. This
function may be inhibited in the ORT.

Note: Once a number is entered, it cannot be cleared but it may be replaced by entering a new
number.
4R Validates the default SATCOM channel or the SATCOM channel 1 (2)
entered in the scratchpad.
5R Validates either the default priority or the priority (from 1 to 4) entered in the
scratchpad.
