1. HISTORY
In 1993 Airbus was the first Aircraft Manufacturer to comply with the ATA standards by releasing
the FCOM and the MMEL in SGML format.
Although this standard (SGML) was set up by the Airline community, the customers have quickly
discovered the difficulty in using SGML in terms of the investment necessary to develop the
