Each Conixtcting Stare or common mark registering authority
shall maintain a current rcgister showing for each aircraft
registered by that Srate or common mark registeri~lga uthority,
thc information recorded in the certificate of registration (see
Section 7). The register of unmanned free balloons shall
contain the date, time and location of rclease, the type of
balloon and the name of the operator.

7. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION 8. IDENTIFICATION PLATE
7.1 The certificate of gistra ration, in wording and
arrangement, shall be a replica of the certificate shown in
Figure I.
Note.- The size of the forrtr is at tfze discretion of the State
of Registry or cnrnrnorz nzark registeritzg authority.
7.2 When certificates of rcgist-ration are issucd in a
language other thari English, thcy shall include an English
translation.
Note.- Article 29 of the Convention on Intentutinnal Civil
Aviation requires that the certificale of regislration be carried
on board every aircrafi engaged in E~zternational nir
navigation.
An aircraft shall early an identification plate inscribed with at
least its nationality or common mark and rcgishation mark.
The plate shall be made of fireproof metal or other fireproof
material of suitable physical properties and shall be secured to
the aircr,lft in a prominent position near the 111ain entrance or,
in the case of an unrnanncd free balloon, affixed conspicuously
to the exterior of the payload.
9. GENERAL
The provisions of this Annex shall not apply to meteorological
pilot balloons used exclusively for meteorological purposes or
to unmanned free balloons without a payload.
