Next panel asks the user to specify the JDK installation path.
Figure 17 - Client/Server Installation: JDK path selection
The Flight Ops Doc Manager server needs a JDK: Java Development Kit installed on the computer to work. A JRE is not sufficient as this application uses some specific abilities of the JVM furnished in the JDK. Please read the Logistic Prerequisite document [RD3] in order to choose the required version of the Java Development Kit.
The JDK can be downloaded on the Sun Microsystems web site (http://java.sun.com).
Click on next when you’ve entered the directory containing the JDK.

Next panel asks the user to specify the Company name, Server IP address, Registry RMI, RMI server and FTP port numbers
Figure 19 - Client/Server Installation: Company name selection
This panel asks you for several information specific to your company and the computer acting as server:
Company name
Server address: enter the IP address or the name of the computer. The server host must be accessible from others computers with a browser with this parameter.
Registry RMI port: RMI protocol is used for communication between the Flight Ops Doc Manager server and its clients. You can specify a port different from the default one, in case it is already used by others applications on this computer. (1099 is the default port for RMI and others applications on the computer like LDM server may already use this port thus leading to conflicts).
RMI server port: To specify the port number to use for each external communication. You can let the port number to 0 (the system will choose a port available to use, thus can lead to conflicts if you use a firewall), or fix a port number of your choice (>1024).
