Symptom
The user tries to connect to the Flight Ops Doc Manager server but an already connected error is displayed. But in fact, the user is not connected to the server.

Cause
This user was not disconnected properly from the Flight Ops Doc Manager server in its previous session.
5.2.2.3
Solution/ Fix
Wait 2 hours for the session to be automatically killed by the Flight Ops Doc Manager server then retry connecting.

Server failure
5.3.1
Starting server
5.3.1.1
Symptom
The server doesn’t start.
Look into the Flight Ops Doc Manager server trace file (FOSP-trace.txt) for the line:
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: socket creation error
5.3.1.2
Cause
The database may not have been started.
5.3.1.3
Solution/ Fix
If you’ve installed Flight Ops Doc Manager with HSQLDB, start the database service and wait until it is started.
If you’ve installed Flight Ops Doc Manager with another database engine, make sure that it is running before launching Flight Ops Doc Manager server.
5.3.2
HSQLDB Database failure
5.3.2.1
Symptom
The HSQLDB database don’t start. Look in to the FOSP-Server.txt file.
You shall see an OutOfMemoryError.
5.3.2.2
Cause
There are too many data in the HSQLDB database. The engine tries to load them in memory and fails.
5.3.2.3
Solution/ Fix
Modify the following line in <Flight Ops Doc Manager_InstallPath>/hsql_files/fosp/.properties
hsqldb.cache_size_scale=11
hsqldb.cache_scale=12
Restart the database.
5.3.3
Stopping server
5.3.3.1
Symptom
The task bar indicating that the Flight Ops Doc Manager server is stopping is never ending.

Cause
There are still some clients connected to the Flight Ops Doc Manager
5.3.3.3
Solution/ Fix
Wait until the “stop service” action ends (probably with an error). Contact all the users that are connected to Flight Ops Doc Manager server and ask them to log out.
Retry stopping the Flight Ops Doc Manager server. If it doesn’t work, manually kill the javaw processes with the Window task manager.
5.3.4
Flight Ops Doc Manager Client : Impossible to save a DU unable to format the document unit
5.3.4.1
Symptom
After a DU edition, when saving the DU, the following error is returned:
Error saving document. The preview component was unable to format the document unit…
5.3.4.2
Cause
Java version used in Java Web Start is incorrect.
You surely installed Java 4 (or 6 ?) on your machine.
Java version used for JSW is not only 1.4 but also 1.5. or after, it is not compatible with Flight Ops Doc Manager (1.5.0_XX)
