PRODUCT PRESENTATION
2.1
Identification
This document is compliant with the release 7.1 of the Flight Ops Doc Manager application.
2.2
Scope
The objective of the Flight Ops Doc Manager project is to provide a suitable customization level of OPS manuals and the necessary tools to make the customized manuals available.
The purpose of data customization is to allow the airline customer to create his own manual that is a requirement for operating the aircraft. This is done from raw data provided by Airbus in XML format.
2.3
Functional description
For a detailed description of the functionalities please refer to the Functional Description document [RD2]
It offers the ability to carry out the following tasks:

Administration of Authorised Users, Aircraft Fleet and Publications

Data loading
􀂾
Data browsing and analysis
􀂾
Data customization
􀂾
Creation of Publication sets for validation or delivery.
This application has been developed to meet the following design specifications:

Reduce the Flight Operations workload as much as possible
􀂾
Basic and easy-to-use product that is rich in functionality
􀂾
Provide a consistent and intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI)
􀂾
Only one format for loading is acceptable: Airbus Exchange Standard
􀂾
Facilitate comprehensive data customization
􀂾
Publish manuals to multiple output formats (default format is compatible with the LPC Browser)

Multi-user application
􀂾
Concurrent manuals customization
􀂾
Open and scalable architecture.

Presentation of all different modules
The different modules of the application are:

Prepare: This module transforms the exchange 6.1 manual into 7.0.1 if necessary.

Business Model Reader: the business model reader parses manual files in order to transform them in the internal format of the Flight Ops Doc Manager application

Load: this module stores in database the result of the BMR. It might call the revise module whenever it’s not the first load perform on the manual

Fleet Manager: the fleet manager stores and manages all data regarding aircrafts

Multimedia Manager: this module is responsible of the management of the whole external documents contained in the manuals

User Manager: this module manages the pool of user that have the rights to access Flight Ops Doc Manager. It stores their different role and permission

User Authentication: manages the authentication of users in Flight Ops Doc Manager

Manual management: responsible of all operation done on the different releases (Release/Dispatch etc …)

Navigation / Customization: also called Manual Explorer, this module allows user navigating into the manual. The authors have also the possibility to edit DU (with Internal editor or external Arbortext editor), modify the structure of the document, change some metadata …

Document Editor: this module is responsible of all the editing functionalities of the Flight Ops Doc Manager

Publishing: this external module allows publishing the manual in several formats
􀂾
Export: the export modules allows complete manual archive
