The standalone installer wizard doesn’t start
There are no JRE installed on the computer
Check installer directory content:

SetupST.bat
o
jre/
o
fosp_standalone.jar
The client/server installer wizard doesn’t start
There are no JDK installed on the computer
Install a JDK on the computer
5.1.1
Managing IO exception error
5.1.1.1
Symptom
When installing Flight Ops Doc Manager Server, at the end of the installation (Overall installation progress step 2/2). Installation stops and you get this error:

5.1.1.2
Cause
Flight Ops Doc Manager server installer needs to access to a Java Development Kit binary. As a result, the windows path should contain the path to the Java Development Kit binaries.
5.1.1.3
Solution/ Fix

Go to: Control panel > System.

Click on the "advanced" tab > Environment variables.

Check the JAVA_HOME is set with the path where the JDK is installed.

If JAVA_HOME doesn’t already exist, click on "System variables" > NEW and set the correct values as shown in the following screenshot:

Then check the system variable: PATH.
There should be the path to the binaries of the JDK: Click on "System variables" > Edit… and check that there is the following string: c:\JDK<install_path>\bin

If not, at the end of the line, add " ; c:\<JDK_install_path>\bin" where <JDK_install_path> is your correct path to the installation directory. (Separate your new path to the existing path by a semi column. as shown in the following screenshot)

Then click on OK, uninstall and erase all the installation files and retry installing Flight Ops Doc Manager.
5.1.2
Database failure
5.1.2.1
Symptom
When installing the Flight Ops Doc Manager software in client/server with HSQLDB you get one of the following message is displayed “unable to delete SA user” or “unable to connect to database”.
5.1.2.2
Cause
An HSQLDB engine is already running on the selected port.

Solution/ Fix
Delete the files that were already copied by the installer and try to install Flight Ops Doc Manager on a different port.
5.1.3
Uninstalling
5.1.3.1
Symptom
When removing the files that were not deleted by the installer, you get an error regarding the prun software.
5.1.3.2
Cause
The prun software is still running and cannot be deleted
5.1.3.3
Solution/ Fix
Open windows task manager and manually kill the prun process.
You can then delete the installation directory.
5.2
Client failure
5.2.1
Unable to install client
5.2.1.1
Symptom
If you have a previous version of Flight Ops Doc Manager software installed and if the client is not updated by Java Web Start.
5.2.1.2
Cause
Java Web Start cache files are not correct.
5.2.1.3
Solution/ Fix
Open Java Web Start console. Go into the advanced tab of the preference menu and clean the application directory.
