General
You go into the EDIT ENG BALANCE PARTS menu to review or
modify the fan balance weight data in the AVM signal
conditioner non-volatile memory. The nonvolatile memory
does not save LPT clip information.
The nonvolatile memory contains the classification of the fan
balance weight (PO1 through PO7) at each balance weight
location (fan hole). The AVM signal conditioner may use this
information for balance solutions. See the ENGINE BALANCE
PG 4 page in this section for more information.
You push the YES BITE switch at the EDIT ENG BALANCE
PARTS? display to enter the menu. An option to go to engine 1
data shows first. Push the YES BITE switch to go to engine 1
data. Push the NO BITE switch to go to engine 2 data.
The NO FAN PARTS message shows if the AVM signal
conditioner does not have data for the selected engine. After
a three-second time delay, you have the option to add balance
weight (part) data. You use the up and down arrow BITE
switches to change the weight classification and fan hole
number.
You can view or edit balance weight data for each engine. Each
balance weight has these items that show on the AVM display:
* Part number
* Weight classification (PO1 through P07 will show instead of
XXX)
* Fan hole number (actual number will show instead of XX).
Fan hole number 1 is next to fan blade number 1. The fan hole
numbers increase in a counter clockwise direction (looking aft).
To view part data, push the YES BITE switch at the VIEW E1(2)
FAN PARTS? display. Data for part 1 shows first. Use the up and
down arrow BITE switches to navigate through all parts. Push
the NO BITE switch at any point to return to the start of the view
menu.
To edit part data, push the NO BITE switch at the VIEW E1(2)
FAN PARTS? display. Push YES to go to part 1. You use the up
and down arrow BITE switches to change the weight
classification of part 1. Push YES to save the new weight
classification. Push YES again to move to part 2.
You may also add new part data if it does not exist in the AVM
signal conditioner non-volatile memory. You get to this part of
the menu when you push the NO BITE switch from the EDIT
E1(2) FAN PARTS? display. You use the up and down arrow
BITE switches to get the correct balance weight classification.
You push YES to get to the ADD XXX ON XX? display. You use
the up and down arrow BITE switches to adjust the fan hole
selection (XX). Push YES to enter the new data.

You go into the ENGINE TRIM BALANCE to get a one plane (fan
only) or two plane (fan and LPT) balance solution for either
engine. The AVM signal conditioner calculates the solution, and
shows the adjustment in balance weights that you must install
to balance the engine. Always use the procedure in AMM part 2
when you do an engine balance.
For either engine, you may have the AVM signal conditioner
calculate a one plane two plane balance solution. To find a fan
balance solution, push the YES switch at the ONE PLANE? FAN
ONLY display.
The INSTALL ONLY BALANCE? message shows next. The AVM
signal conditioner will attempt to calculate a balance solution if
you push the YES or the NO switch. The calculation takes five to
