- Motor 2 is controlled by controller 2.
Controller 2 plus motor 2 corresponds to system 2.
Two electronic actuators ensure the interface with the
controllers. A pressure switch, which operates
independently from the automatic operation, is
installed in each electronic actuator. It closes the
applicable outflow valve in case of cabin altitude
above 15000 ft.
Motor 3 is controlled from the cabin pressure panel
by the MAN V/S toggle switch when manual mode is
selected on the MODE SEL pushbutton. The manual motor
is used in case of failure of system 1 and 2.
The outflow valve position monitoring is based on a
triple potentiometer principle.
Potentiometer 1(2) generates a feedback signal, sent
to CPC 1(2) through electronic actuator 1(2). It is
used for indication and initialization purposes in
automatic operation.
Potentiometer 3 generates a feedback signal, sent
straight to the CPC 1 manual backup part. It is used
for indication purposes in manual operation only.
SAFETY VALVES
The safety valves prevent excessive positive and
negative differential pressure in the fuselage. They
are installed on the aft pressure bulkhead above the
aircraft flotation line. The safety valves are poppet
type pneumatic valves. They operate independently.

CABIN PRESSURE ALTITUDE ENVELOPPE
The cabin altitude is limited to 8000 feet with a
differential pressure of 8.06 psi for an aircraft
altitude of 39000 feet.
If cabin altitude increases:
- at 9550 ft, the master warning comes on,
- at 11300 ft, passenger signs are activated.
In the outflow valve, a safety device closes the valve
when the cabin altitude reaches 15000 ft.

LANDING ELEVATION SELECTOR
When the LDG ELEV selector is in AUTO position, the
system is in normal operation conditions. The landing
elevation comes from the Flight Management & Guidance
System (automatic operation).
In other positions the selected landing elevation is
used (semi-automatic operation).
When not set to AUTO and as the scale on the LDG ELEV
rotary selector is inaccurate, use the ECAM CAB PRESS
page to correctly set the landing elevation (if QNH
used) or zero (if QFE used).
CONTROL MODE SEL PUSHBUTTON AND MAN V/S TOGGLE SW
When the MODE SEL pushbutton is in the AUTO position,
the outflow valve is automatically controlled by the
active system. The CPCs use the data from the Flight
