Provides Access to Different Error Log Pages
This is one of three possible error logs. Class 1 & 2 errors are fatal errors which cause CMU to reset. Class 3 errors are non fatal errors and usually external to CMU (such as environment has changed or differs from that defined in the database. Ground errors are systems problems detected on ground which may provide troubleshooting information but have no adverse affect on system function.
Access to an error class screen is not possible if no error message are present.
Error Log
Provides Information About System Problems stored in Memory
This page shows Class 1 & 2 Faults. These are fatal errors, which cause CMU to reset.
Details of problems are provided by Flight Leg, Date, Time (UTC), ATA chapter and class. Screen layout of this screen is identical to other error logs.
RCV 429 DATA
To examine ARINC 429 Broadcast Data input to CMU, use
ACARS RCV 429 DATA screen and ACARS SEL 429 DATA
screen.
RCV 429 Data
Inspect Specific Broadcast Parameters Received from other LRU
SELECT accesses a sub-screen where user may specify precisely which parameter to be examined. A/C Registration is either a broadcast data or derived from unit program pins. ACARS operational UTC & date are also displayed.
Select RCV 429 Data
Select to display particular ARINC 429 Broadcast Data from LRU
Toggle LSK 1L to select target LRU.
Enter target label via LSK 2L.
Toggle LSK 3L to enter SDI (refer to
SRD).
In real time, the binary value of the
received broadcast data will be displayed
from bits 11 through 32 and bit 9 & 10
represent SDI bits.
TX 429 DATA
To examine ARINC 429 Broadcast Data output from CMU, use ACARS TX 429 DATA screen.
Use this to examine the following ARINC 429 broadcast outputs:
Label 172 – CMU Subsystem Identification. Broadcast rate at 1 Hz minimum during all modes of CMU operation on output buses 1 through 10 and 12.
Label 270 – ACARS CMU Status. Broadcast rate at 1 Hz minimum during all modes of CMU operation.
Label 350 – Bus Activity Word. Broadcast rate at 1 Hz minimum during all modes of CMU operation.
Label 377 – ACARS CMU LRU Identification. Broadcast rate at 1 Hz minimum during all modes of CMU operation.

Display Specified Labels on CMU’s ARINC 429 Output Bus
User enters required label to view by toggling LSK 2L. In real time, the binary value of the output broadcast data is displayed from bits 11 through 32 and bits 9 & 10 represent the SDI bits.
