TOILET WASTE TANK - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1.  Equipment and Materials
A.  Graphite Lubrication Grease - MIL-G-81322
B.  BMS 5-95, Class B - Faying Surface and Fillet Sealant (Ref 20-30-11).
2.  Prepare to Remove Tank
A.  Drain and flush waste tank from exterior service panel (Ref 12-17-0).
B.  Open applicable lavatory flush motor circuit breaker on panel P18.
C.  Disconnect electrical connectors from toilet timer (Ref 38-32-11).
3.  Remove Tank (Fig. 401)
A.  Remove fasteners and remove toilet tank shroud.
B.  If not already accomplished, remove fasteners and remove toilet back shroud or disposal cabinet (Ref 25-42-8 or 25-42-11 as applicable).
C.  Remove wire bundle clamps as necessary to free wire bundle to toilet flush motor.
D.  Disconnect bonding jumper.
E.  Disconnect tank overboard vent line, ground flush line and waste water drain line from sink as applicable.
F.  Disengage drain valve control cable at cable quick-disconnect.
G.  Loosen fasteners, swing away tiedown rods and, on aft tank, tiedown strap.
H.  Rotate tank slightly to loosen from floor drain adapter.
I.  Lift tank upward evenly.
CAUTION:  UNEVEN LIFTING MAY DAMAGE TANK OUTLET AND/OR FLOOR DRAIN ADAPTER.
J.  Handle tank with care to prevent damage to tank outlet. Store tank with adequate supports to prevent outlet contact with other surfaces.
CAUTION:  TANK OUTLET MAY BE EASILY DAMAGED.

4. Install Tank (Fig. 401)

A.  On toilets with catch basin, apply sealant liberally to surfaces of shear pins (4 places) at bottom of catch basin.
B.  Lower tank evenly onto floor drain adapter and floor structure.
CAUTION:  UNEVEN HANDLING MAY DAMAGE TANK OUTLET AND/OR FLOOR DRAIN ADAPTER.
NOTE: Use new O-ring. Lubricate O-ring with graphite grease.
C.  Position cable assembly and tiedown rods (and strap as applicable) on waste tank.
D.  Tighten and lockwire fasteners.
E.  Engage toilet drain valve control cable.
F.  Connect tank overboard vent line and ground flush line.
G.  Connect bonding jumper.
H.  Install toilet back shroud or disposal cabinet (Ref 25-42-8 or 25-42-11 as applicable.
I.  Connect electrical connectors to timer and clamp wire bundle.
J.  Install toilet tank shroud.
K.  Service toilet unit (Ref Chapter 12, Toilet Servicing).
L.  Close applicable lavatory flush motor circuit breaker on P18 panel and check toilet operation.

SERVICE PANEL DRAIN VALVE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1.  General
A.  This procedure has these task(s):
(1)  
Replacement of seals on service panel drain valves with OPEN/CLOSE levers (Fig. 201, Sheet 1).

(2)  
Replacement of seals on the forward and aft service panel drain valves (Fig. 201, Sheets 2 and 3).

B.  The term “seals” includes O-rings, molded seals, and packings.

NOTE:  Keep the drain hose connected to the drain outlet.
