The detection function is available at :
‐ Takeoff, from 3 s after lift-off, up to 1 300 ft RA,
‐ Landing, from 1 300 ft RA, down to 50 ft RA,
provided the aircraft is not in clean configuration.
lt remains displayed at least 15 s after windshear detection.
Associated with an aural “WINDSHEAR” warning, which is repeated 3
times.
W/S AHEAD : Predictive windshear warning. Displayed, when a windshear alert is
generated by the predictive windshear system below 1 500 ft RA.
The color depends on the alert level.
Three different alert levels exist, depending on windshear strength and
proximity :

Note: 1. All flags, except SI, V1 INOP, DME 1 (which are steady), flash for 9 s then are
steady.
DH flag flashes for 3 s, then is steady.
2. For TCAS, Refer to DSC-34-80-10 TCAS MODES.
(23) DME 1 flag (red)
When DME distance is not available, a DME 1 (on PFD 1) or DME 2 (on PFD 2) replaces the
DME distance indication.
(24) ILS flag (red)
If an ILS frequency is not available, or if either the LOC or G/S signals fail, an ILS flag replaces
the ILS frequency indication.
BACKUP SPEED/ALTITUDE SCALE
Applicable to: ,
A backup speed scale and a backup altitude scale replace simultaneously the normal speed and
altitude scales when all the three ADRs are switched OFF. This enables the flight crew to fly at a safe
speed and altitude in case of an unreliable speed/altitude indication.
The backup speed scale information is based on the angle–of–attack, and depends on the slat/flap
configuration.
The backup altitude scale displays the GPS altitude.

(2) Amber area :
The amber area indicates the excessive speed range while keeping an appropriate margin to
the maximum structural speeds.
(3) GREEN area :
The green area indicates the safe speed range.
(4) Target speed (green) :
This symbol indicates the optimum target speed.
During the approach, it indicates the target speed for the approach.
(5) Actual Speed Reference Line (Yellow) :
This fixed reference line next to a yellow triangle, indicates the aircraft’s current speed.
(6) Amber area :
This amber area indicates too low speed while keeping an appropriate margin to the stall
speed.
(7) Red SLOW area :
This red area indicates the speeds that are lower than the stall speed.
