CONTROL PANEL
Applicable to:
(1) Transceiver 1-2 switch
This switch selects one radar, or turns off both radars.
Note: When only one radar is fitted on the aircraft, no weather image will be displayed when
switching on System 2.
(2) GAIN knob
This knob adjusts the sensitivity of the receiver.
AUTO: Automatically adjusts the gain to the optimum setting.
(3) Mode selector
WX : Weather mode : Colors indicate the intensity of precipitation (Black indicates the
lowest intensity. Green, amber, and red indicate progressively higher intensities).
WX/TURB: The screen displays turbulence areas (in precipitation areas) in magenta (within
40 nm).
MAP : The radar operates in ground mapping mode. Black indicates water.
Green indicates ground. Amber indicates cities and mountains.
(4) TILT knob
Allows manual control of antenna tilt.
0 refers to the horizon as provided by the ADIRS 1 as follows :
WS ‐ SYS 1 by ADIRS 1 (or 3 if selected)
‐ WS SYS 2 by ADIRS 2 (or 3 if selected)
Note: Setting different scales on the ND reduces the sweep rate of each ND image. (8 s
instead of 4 s).

(5) WINDSHEAR selector  (operative, only if the windshear function is embodied)
AUTO : Windshear function is activated. Windshear areas will be detected by the antenna
scanning below 1 500 ft RA, even if the transceiver selector (1) is set to OFF, and
displayed on the ND.
OFF : No windshear function.

This knob controls the antenna tilt.
