COCKPIT LIGHTS - SYSTEM PRESENTATION
READING LIGHTS
The Captain and the First Officer reading lights are
fitted on the upright of the cockpit side windows.
Supplementary reading lights are located on the
overhead panel.
The Captain and First Officer reading lights and
supplementary reading lights illuminate the sliding
tables, the lateral map tables and the ceiling, if
necessary. The supplementary reading lights swivel.
INSTRUMENT AND PANEL INTEGRAL LIGHTING
All the instruments installed in the cockpit other
than the cathode ray tubes are integrally lit. The
lights, illumating the instruments, are equipped with
a dimming control.
This integral lighting consists of miniature lamps
supplied by AC power from lighting controllers.
There are 3 independent controllers to supply integral
lighting of:
- the overhead panel,
- the instrument panels, consoles and the center
pedestal,
- glareshield and Flight Control Unit (FCU).
ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT TEST
The annunciator lights mounted on the panels and
instruments in the cockpit are sun readable lights.
The integrity of all annunciator lights can be tested
and their intensity can be dimmed.

Two electrical plugs are located on the right hand
side of the aft wall.
One for 28 VDC and one for 115 VAC.

COCKPIT LIGHTS - CONTROLS PRESENTATION
GENERAL
All system controls are located on four different
panels.
They are located on :
- the overhead panel,
- the glareshield,
- the main instrument panel,
- the center pedestal.
READING LIGHTS
The Captain and First Officer reading lights as well
as the supplementary reading lights illuminate the
sliding tables and the lateral map tables.
Each Captain and First Officer reading light control
box is equipped with an On/Off pushbutton and a
rheostat for brightness control.
OVERHEAD PANEL
Several light switches and light control knobs are
located on the overhead panel:
- an overhead integral lighting knob controls
the brightness of the integral lighting of the
overhead panel,
- an standby compass switch controls the lighting
of the standby compass and the lighting of the
seat alignment device,
- a dome switch is used to supply and to select
