at least 12 minutes.
The batteries are no longer charged.
OTHER CASES
Independently of the switch positions, the integral
lights in the respective escape slides come on when
the passenger/crew doors or the emergency exit doors
are opened with the escape slides armed.
In the event of excessive cabin depressurization, the
exit marking signs and the exit location signs
automatically come on.
TEST
The EPSUs have a test circuit which tests the condition
of the battery unit, the logic unit and the related
loads.
This test is first performed from the Programming and
Test Panel, but if the BAT OK or SYS OK annunciator
light does not come on, an isolated test must be
performed with the pushbutton located on each EPSU.

EMERGENCY LIGHTS - SYSTEM D/O - ALTERNATE FLOOR MOUNTED "L.S.I" EEPMS
GENERAL
The Emergency Lighting System provides illumination
in case of failure of the Main Lighting System or
during Emergency conditions.
The Emergency Lighting System consists of :
- Emergency Power Supply Units (EPSUs),
- 6VDC cabin emergency lights,
- 6VDC exit marking signs,
- 6VDC exit location signs,
- 6VDC escape slide lights,
- Power Supply Units,
- 115VAC luminescent light strips,
- 115VAC wall-mounted exit marking signs,
- 28VDC lavatory auxiliary lights.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
The Emergency Power Supply Units are supplied with
115VAC normal busbar and 28VDC Essential busbar.
The Power Supply Units are supplied with 28VDC
Essential busbar.
EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLY UNITS
The Emergency Lighting System is equipped with two
types of Power Supply Units.
Emergency Power Supply Units supply cabin emergency
lights, escape slide lights, and exit marking & exit
location signs. They also monitor the correct voltage
of the AC and DC busbars.
The Emergency Power Supply Units (EPSUs) convert 28VDC
into 6VDC to operate their associated lights. An
internal 6VDC battery in each EPSU is charged
continuously when the Essential busbar is energized.
The other type of Power Supply Units supply the
floor-proximity emergency escape path marking
(FPEEPMS) lights and the wall-mounted exit marking
signs. It also monitors the correct voltage of the DC
busbar.
The Power Supply Units convert 28VDC into 9.6VDC, and
invert 9.6VDC into 115VAC to operate their associated
lights. An internal 9.6VDC battery in each PSU is
charged continuously when the Essential busbar is
energized.

OPERATION
The EMER EXIT LT switch on the overhead panel controls
the Emergency Lighting System.
The EMER EXIT LT switch has three positions : OFF, ARM
and ON. Each of these positions sends a discrete ground
signal to the two types of power supply units.
OFF
In the OFF position a ground signal prevents the
Emergency Lighting System from being switched on when
