9.3 Visual Observations
Weather observations are visual and are not lower than the specified minima filed by the operator.
10.1. Low Visibility Procedure (LVP)
LVP is implemented when RVR is less than 800M. However, ILS CAT-I operations will continue till RVR is 550M.
10.2 Low Visibility Take-Off Minima (LVTOM)
In compliance with operations circular no. 6 of 1999 Rev.4, dated 21st Oct, 2008 issued by DGCA, New Delhi, NACIL (I) is authorized to carry out Low Visibility Take-off Operations specified in Chapter 2:
11. Dispatch of Flight / Continuation of IFR Flight
An IFR flight shall not be commenced / continued unless the available meteorological information indicates that the Met. Conditions at either aerodrome of intended landing or at least one alternate aerodrome will, at the expected time of arrival, be at or above the aerodrome operating minima.
12. ETOPS MINIMA:
Operating minima for Alternate Airports is kept higher than the normal minima for the purpose of dispatch of flights under ETOPS. Such higher minima are NOT applicable for in-flight functions. For details refer ETOPS Training notes and NACIL (I) Ops Manual –Vol 1, Chapter 4, Para 4.4.10.
Pg-12/28
13. Take-off from Aerodrome having more than one Instrument Runway
A runway can be used for take-off even if the reported weather conditions are below minima for that particular runway provided other runway meets the landing minima requirements, and is suitable for landing in the event of an emergency necessitating immediate landing on departure
14. Visual Circle to Land
Visual Circle to Land may be carried out at Circling MDA or at higher altitude, after obtaining permission from ATC, provided the following conditions are met: - a) Pilots must consider the cloud ceiling and amount of clouds for
circling MDA
b) Visual contact with the runway has been established while approaching the facility, or while making an Instrument Approach, keeping in view all obstacles and terrain clearance.
c) Visual approach must be stabilized upto 500ft AGL. during visual approach and 300ft AGL. during a circling approach. (Refer NACIL (I) Ops Manual Page 25-3)
15. Visual Approach by a Flight Crew
