[1]   The digital flight control system (DFCS) operational procedure integrates the functions of the autopilot (A/P), flight director (F/D), autothrottle (A/T), altitude alert, stabilizer trim, mach trim, and speed trim.  This lesson describing system operation is intended to help maintenance personnel understand DFCS operation.  The DFCS operation is divided into two parts: normal operation and supplemental normal operations.  The normal operation includes a typical normal flight from takeoff to landing.  The supplemental normal operation includes pitch control and roll control by using CWS (control wheel steering), approach by using a single A/P, and go-around by using F/D only.
