.
A world scale study.
.
The use of monthly sampling over a year period.
.
Diurnal variation.
.
A study of the times in mode of the LTO cycle.
Based on this, the other work packages will deliver:
. A new global emission inventory including NOx, CO2, CO, H2O, particle numbers and HC.
.
Allocation of emissions in geographical area
.
Assessment of the temporal variability of the emissions.
. A high vertical resolution of gridded fuel.
.
Flow distances per geographical area and in time.
DATA COLLECTION
The data collection will start beginning 2002. In order to consider the seasonal variation of air traffic movements, it was decided to collect data 6 times over the year. Three consecutive days of flight data were chosen to make sure that a full day of traffic information be covered. The timetable for data collection is below.
2002 February April June September October Decembe r
Thursday 7 11 13 12 10 5
Friday 8 12 14 13 11 6
Saturday 9 13 15 14 12 7
The type of flight data required is listed below. An electronic format of the data, if possible as a text file “space/tab/comma delimited” is wished. The fields should be clearly labelled, described and mentioning the unit used. Information for a single flight can be stored in several lines and each line of information only contains one flight.
